New parking restrictions to be introduced from 14th November
Q&A FOR THE CHANGES TO CAR PARKING AT MAYBIRD SHOPPING PARK, STRATFORD
Q. What changes are being introduced?
From 14 November a four hour parking limit will be introduced at Maybird Shopping Park, Stratford-upon-Avon in order to free up more car parking spaces for customers visiting the stores at the Park.
The parking system is based on Automatic Number Plate Recognition (ANPR). Similarly to other car parks in Stratford, it will accurately monitor the time every vehicle parks on site and issue a parking charge notice for vehicles staying longer than the allocated four hours.
Q. What amount will the car parkers be fined if they default and park for more than 4 hours?
They will be fined £70, reduced to £50 if they pay within 14 days.
Q. What about the genuine shoppers who may end up staying longer than 4 hours? Will you reimburse their parking cost (as is common practice in many places with similar issues)?
Genuine customers who end up staying over 4 hours can overturn their fine. The customer will need to provide copy of receipts for the day in question to G24’s office in a dispute letter. The receipts need to be within the time of the Contractual Parking Charge and of a reasonable value.
Q. What kind of an effect is this going to have on shoppers and visitors of Maybird Shopping Park?
With the introduction of the parking limit, which is supported by our retailers, we expect a greater availability of parking spaces for our shoppers, who are often inconvenienced by the lack of parking due to congestion by those who aren’t customers of the Park.
Within the four hour limit, all shoppers can continue to park for free and enjoy the wide range of retailers available at Maybird Shopping Park.
Q. Which car park company will you be working with and why did you choose them?
We will be working with G24 who provide services to a number of other car parks in the local area and who will be offering a full parking control service that is fully compliant with the British Parking Association Code of Practice.
